Eligibility, merchant lists and exclusions

Transactions are classified once in this order: designated merchants, online entertainment/fashion, other online retail, then foreign-currency spending.

Before earning bonus rewards

  • Registration is required. Only transactions from the successful registration month onward can earn bonus rewards.
  • The calculator applies the general HKD 3,000 monthly eligible-spending requirement. Qualifying full-time students are exempt until the end of their graduation year.
  • Transactions must be posted within 15 days after the end of the relevant calendar month.

8% online entertainment and fashion details

  • Streaming: Apple TV/Music, Disney+, HBO Max, HMVOD, JOOX, KKBOX, MOOV, Netflix, Spotify, Viu and YouTube.
  • Cinema tickets: Broadway Circuit, CineArt Cinema, Cinema City, Emperor Cinemas, Bestarfilm Cinemas and MCL Cinema. Food and drink purchases are excluded.
  • Ticketing and theme parks: Cityline, HotdogTIX, KKTIX, POPTICKET, Ticketflap, URBTIX, Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park Hong Kong.
  • Online fashion eligibility depends on the assigned merchant category code. Online department stores do not qualify.

Not eligible for +FUN Dollars under this programme

  • Online bill payments, tax payments and transactions with insurance companies.
  • All Alipay and WeChat Pay transactions, and phone or fax orders.
  • Cash coupons, instalment payments, balance transfers and recurring-payment instructions.
  • Octopus add value, stored-value card purchases or reloads, and e-wallet purchases or reloads.
  • Financial products or services, including foreign currency, money orders, travellers' cheques, deposits and money transfers.
  • Cash advances, casino chips, card fees, handling fees, finance charges and late charges.
  • Transactions that are cancelled, returned or found to be fraudulent.

The Hang Seng MMPOWER World Mastercard offers 8% +FUN Dollars at designated merchants and on eligible online entertainment and fashion, 5% on other online retail, and 4% on foreign-currency purchases at physical stores outside Hong Kong. Registration and HK$3,000 monthly eligible spending are generally required for bonus rewards. The monthly cap applies to the extra HK$500 reward, while the basic 0.4% continues beyond the cap.
